4. Thanks, bro. My 2.4 G band is now on fire. Initially, it was 1.99 MB download and 7.79 upload. I changed it to channel 11 and Download blasted to 32.06 Mb and upload to 35.21.

    I am shawn and just want to say thank you for us this trick. Also my internet slow as well.
    I have been experience with the my neatgear router operator she said I have to paid her to reset my router cause been over 5 years of time but I purchase this router from Fry’s electronic store. The salesman this is the top of the line router n I paid for over $200 dollars.

    I feel like been rip-off from the lady operator but likely I didn’t paid her to reset my router.
    Now my router still slow !!!!!!
    Some big company out there really try to rip-off consumers. Watch out guy.

13. is there anyway to speed up the upload speed? i got my download to go from around 16-19 mbps to around 25-30 mbps (by changing channels) but now i wanna see if i can change the upload speed somehow.

15. Wow, Americans are being ripped off . I pay thirty euros a month for 107 Mbps download with 5 MBps upload , with no data limit and it NEVER slows down . I have had this contract for four years and use to check my speed often because i could not believe that it never slowed down. After about a year i stopped checking . Keep in mind i’m online 10 to twelve hours a day !

20. If you are running a speed test over wifi. You are not testing your internet speed. You are testing your wifi speed. If you absolutely have to post tech videos at least make sure you get your titles correct.

24. As of this date 11.29.2019, my five ghz. speed testing on my Iphone X are about 100 to 115 Mbs. I used the PcMatic. com speed site for my testing. Now, on my Windows 7 laptop I tested about 50 to 60 Mbs on a five ghz signal and my windows ten desktop tested at about the same on a 2.4 Ghz signal. I could have did better on the desktop , but I’ve had issues with it where I’m unable to use it’s DVD drive to download the drivers neccessary to use the USB antennas. 26. Yeah changing the channel is great except that my TP-LINK M5 mesh wifi doesn't have a way to change the channel. They say you can turn off and on to change the channel but that doesn't work EVER?

29. It is really, really important to note that only channels 1, 6, and 11 are non-overlapping channels for the 2.4 GHz band. If you select anything other than this, and there are other networks in your area, you overlap with them and interfere, reducing the potential internet speeds for everyone. ONLY use channels 1, 6, and 11 unless you are in the only wifi network in the area (and in that case, it wouldn't matter).

33. Following the advise in this video may only work temporarily. Your router's wireless network (2.4ghz and 5ghz) channels should be set on AUTOMATIC not to a specific channel. We live in world surrounded by wireless network signals, when you have your channels set to automatic the router automatically chooses the channel with the least amount of interference when it gets too much interference it automatically rolls to another channel with less interference. Setting your channels to a specific channel means its always stuck on that channel and you'll have to go into the router and change it manually every time that channel receives a lot of interference, this is why setting the channels to auto is the best thing to do. Also internet speed is not the same as throughput, you're changing the throughput not the speed of your internet.

    The idiot that this person spoke with at TW is someone who was trained for a couple of weeks and is paid minimum wage to answer the phone and make pretend they know what they are talking about in order to get you off the phone. When the person calls back because they have messed with their router settings after taking the advise of some idiot I'm the one that has to go back and correct the problem(s).

    I'm a tier 2 technician for the largest ISP in the US and have been doing this for a long time, whenever I go into a router and find that the channel selection is not set to auto I advise them to switch both (2.4ghz and 5ghz) network channels to auto and educate the caller as to why this is important.

    Also, you should always use your ISP's speed test site because they know where their servers are located, I've been on calls where someone was using a speed test site and after doing a traceroute find that their test connection is going through some 3rd world country server where they have horrible internet and will not give you an accurate test result.

42. You people are all sooooooo dumb! None of this info "increases your internet speed"! Nothing will increase your internet speed. All this is doing is increasing your Wifi throughput.

43. What do you mean you fixed it? You just plugged your pc form the router because you did say when it’s plugged you get half the download speed so you unplugged it and used it wirelessly.
