Good tips! Especially making A PLAY instead of agonizing over finding the optimal play. If by the time my turn comes around I don't have a plan I just go with my gut. If it wasn't perfect, so be it; at least the game kept moving.
Think having a second person on the podcast will also be fun because it’ll give you someone to bounce things back and forth with. JLK talked about this in some episode when they had to each talk on their own (I think they were talking about their favorite cards) and how it’s hard to know when to breathe and how to keep the flow going. The misplaying idea is good to learn from in a sequences sense but thetes also the case in which rules misplays happen which are another thing entirely since they can either cost the game or make a combo not even work as intended which is fine since Magic is complicated. One time I remember playing a game and one opponent really went off and I stopped them with Force of Negation and I forgot to put the that win con in exile and they got it back from grave and was able to kill me.
