I agree with Justin. The female Shepard character was the best and one of my all-time favorite characters. That character is so impactful that I have played Mass Effect 1 at least 8 times through. Jennifer Hale brought that character to life!
Mass Effect 2 is boring to me because it's like one giant secondary quest where nothing happens.
I just started Yooka Laylee. Not a bad little collectathon, would of done very well back in the late 90s. I keep trying to play it like Mario Odyssey though and it is nowhere near that clever. Still if someone wants a fun 3D platformer there’s not much else out there!
For those making arguments about stick symmetry…why stop there? Let’s make the button configurations the same between sides. Even better, let’s also ask that you simultaneously hit the mirrored button on each side of the controller during gameplay! My point is, your hands are doing different things during gameplay, symmetry isn’t even part of the equation. Look at detached Nintendo joy-cons to prove my point.

Look, having the option to use your controller EITHER with [ideally rechargeable] batteries OR with a battery pack is always going to be a better option that being forced to use it with a battery pack ONLY that will eventually die out and pretty much make the controller a useless brick. Just thought I would add to the CERO discussion, with them shutting down for the time being due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm a South African living and working as a game developer in Japan and, while I love this country and its people, a lot of companies underestimated the pandemic and simply didn't prepare for it at all. This may be due to the media here somewhat downplaying the virus (initially) and the government's delayed and, quite frankly, pathetic response.
At my company (a game company), they basically completely ignored the virus, then someone at the company caught it and only then did they begin to prepare for teleworking (most of us didn't start teleworking yet, but we will soon). It's quite frustrating. We have many people we hire on temporary contracts and the company whose services we use to provide us with additional quality and bug-testing for our projects have a similar system of hiring temporary workers. This is my own opinion, but I think CERO could totally have prepared for this if they acted quicker, adjusted their contracts and had people work from home, but I think a lack of preparedness has basically forced them to shut down, rendering them unable to do their work.
As a lover and supporter of Japanese games, it is very disappointing. At least I have Animal Crossing and FFVII Remake to keep me busy during all the delays. lol
My friend works for sony and when he was here a couple weeks ago he showed me a pic on his phone of the playstation 5. Surprisingly…it looks remarkably just like his penis . Omg….that bastard.
On the subject of picking and naming your characters in games, I feel like I've ALWAYS defaulted to choosing female characters over the males (1) because they ALWAYS have better glamour options in some way, shape or form and (2) if I'm going to be staring at a character for the next 40 plus hours I'd prefer them to be pleasing to the eye. In the case of FF7R it makes sense that you can't choose character names since it's completely voiced and they are referred to repeatedly by their names whereas Mass Effect found a nice little work-around since the character is military and is always referred to by their last name EVEN BY THEIR LOVER! Also Fem-Shepard's voice actress gave the character WAY MORE RANGE than the male counter-part who played the role very stoically.
Dudes, have any of you played Half-Life:Alyx in VR yet? And if not then why not?

The controllers for the PlayStation have been this way since launch. The n64 had the one lone center stick. No console until the Xbox had that stick setup. Buy a scuf or a c40.

Give us the ability to change the charge packs in our controllers. Extend this to letting us putt aa batteries in. I bought 4 eneloop pro aa batteries for my xbox controller for £12 and I challenge any charge pack you can buy to beat that.

Why people crap on batteries is beyond me. I bought a bunch of rechargable AA and AAA batteries years ago and don't think I've bought any since then. Controller dies, swap them out and charge the old ones. Or play with your PlayStation controller plugged into the machine or a battery pack until it's recharged

I was all about the Xbox controllers during 360 love thumbstick placement felt same as Justin but then along came duel shock 4 and I absolutely love it and is my preferred controller . The newer duel shocks have a much better battery plus you should always have one on the charger while using another .
