@Ryan B you can check if have root by getting app called "root checker" if i remember correctly u need a specific app to get in the /data folder
Question, I'm rooted and have an active Super SU but cant see anything in the Data folders on the /data directory. I'm not in the mnt/sd/data or anything like that im in the actual /data root. It shows empty on 3 different file managers. do i really have root?

Did the kies update to FI27, hated it then ODIN'd back to eg30. Tried to auto root.. no go. Whats the deal can you help me root my phone or am I skipping and/or missing something?
Is this the same as the original samsung galaxy s 4g for Tmobile because my build number looks nothing like this? Mine says FROYO.VUVKD1. I'm new to this root thing but my memory is totally full and i need to get rid of all the pre-installed crap!
