One of my customers said they had caching turned off cause of this video. Do not turn off "persistent bitmap caching," it ensure you don't have re-download anything that hasn't changed. More info on what persistent bitmap caching is: https://superuser.com/a/6987/205119
Definitely made a huge difference. Sped things up 300% – thanks for the video.
Even with these tricks, I connect to a remote server at work that handles our accounting software-access database intergration, but the connection is rough no matter what. Even when I log on later at night when few other users are on, it still is by no means fast, and this is using a 300mbps internet connection. It is tolerable, but the latency is a problem and certain programs and excel queries simply take awhile to run no matter what the conditions.
Thanks this helped a lot!
So, here's a question Mr. McMillen I'm based out of PK my client needs me to access a PC on site in the US. There is terrible lag. My internet speed averages around 1 megabit/sec. (I know that's 2002 speed). How do I optimize this? Is there a solution out there that help – paid or free – both will work. Thanks in advance!
thanks very much
