  1. I know you're doing it on a LAN but is this do-able online without port forwarding or using 3rd party software such as hamachi? I'm looking to just have clients connect to a central server without any headaches on the user's end.

20+ years ago runescape did this same browser-based stuff, how did it take us this long to do it with modern tools! lol

  2. This video has restored my hope in GameMaker. I was halfway into coding an online multiplayer game (using Windows at first) and thought this wasn't possible…

Thank you for posting this. When researching this issue, I ran into a bunch of old web content that said this wasn't possible. : )

  3. if the code is all the same except for when you create a socket, then why not just keep using the regular tcp sockets so that you can run the game on desktop and mobile as well?

  4. What's the best way to learn networking?

Setting up a very basic networking game is easy, but I hear the hard part is putting in client prediction and anti hack.

How would you even learn client prediction and anti hack?

  5. This is very interesting. This could change the way we play games in the future. Is it possible that you could setup a simple html 5 online game that I could test on my browser and see how it plays? I know your very busy so I was just thinking like sometime in the future.
