why bother using the Perry Mason title if you are deviating from it so significantly? Very few people in today's audience have any memory/nostalgia for the original so there is little to no pre-awareness of the title/brand. And, whatever holdover there might be will get you negative publicity & backlash bc the original with Raymond Burr was iconic. Why not just do a period detective story with a new character and build your own IP??

I was confused by this trailer because, the Perry Mason I am familiar is a defense lawyer, and this trailer dose not look like a court legal drama. So actually that this may had nothing to do with Perry Mason I knew, and some new character that by pure coincidence had the same name. But I we to research online, apparently this show is suppose to be Perry Mason's origin story. Apparently before becoming lawyer Perry Mason worked as a private investigator. At least that is what the premises of what this show is going to be.
Perry Mason, as if played by Vanilla Ice. The new guy is too wet behind the ears to outdo what Raymond Burr already accomplished.
