i jailbroke my ipad 1 with redsnow but when i go into the cydia it says unable to load because i mite be trying to connect with cydia.saurik.com so it won't work. Any tips?

hi i have an iphone 4 jailbroken firmware 4.2.1 and i want to go on the last firmware on ios 5 the thing is how i can do this do i neet the itunes or i can do it onle with a program like green poison or pwnage? also if i do that all my custom modifications on my iphone like changing backgrounds to sms changing fonts and stuff like that will be lost?if yes can i prevent that cause it needs days to do all that things again from the start any help?

@GadgetronProductions yea all you have to do is go to itunes and restore the device… but be warned it will factory reset your device.
