  1. i completed all 6 heroes storyline back in the original series but that's because you couldn't respec your build. you are stuck with one of the 4 roles. in 2020, they gave you a 4th class and allow you to change class path so replay value is less. new age gamers don't like to replay often. i enjoy this game a lot but this game got too easy after you got several abilities. even on Hard mode, things just die under 20s. that's my only problem. they really should have an Expert mode with much harder enemy AI.

  2. Too bad, but I don't have Switch nor PS4. So I'll have to stick with my snes emulator.

I recently released a balance patch for the original game in Romhacking.net (also compatible with Trials of Mana 2019). And a patch that makes the AIs not counter if they're attacked with screen freezing skills (makes the game so much more enjoyable). For those of you still want to play that old game, feel free to use it.

  3. Is the review your take on the game or the writers. Have you played the game? Do you agree with the score? Or are you just the voice on the video?

  4. I believe since this game is getting good feedback and it’s the top 13 best selling game on the eshop for the Nintendo Switch, we might get a secret of mana remake, which we all need

  5. I have a blast with this game. Honestly, it doesn't even matter which characters that you choose first. I am playing the game on hard with the remaining 3 characters, and it's still pretty easy.

  6. To be honest, when you compare this game's visuals to a "bad" game like Dawn of Mana, the visuals, art direction, and even character designs look way more amazing than this remake of the only worthwhile game in the SNES series of Mana games. And even though the combat in Dawn was lacking Square Enix could've used the resources used to remake this game to make Dawn (or even Legend) of Mana 10 times better than their original counterpart. Oh well, "why use valuable resources to remake a """"BAD GAME""" with a ton of potential to make them 10 time better than they were before when you can just do the bare minimum and remake a game that was perfect on its own and just come out with something only slightly above average to please the overly nostalgic"*. The Super Nintendo era of JRPGs is the most overrated era in general, but what are you gonna do when there's a fanbase that overhypes every JRPG that comes out on the Switch(*cough Octopath Traveler *cough)? It's fine if you somehow love this game, but I'm not gonna play this game, no matter how highly you recommend it.

  7. Definitely worth the purchase. Never played the original (only saw a few gameplay) but it's really amazing how SE remade this game. Definitely one of my favorite Mana game so far alongside Legend of Mana, which still holds as one of my all time favorite JRPG

  8. I had to switch the audio to japanese. The english voice acting almost ruined the game for me. That and coming fresh off the heels of FFVII RE.

  9. 9:23 Are you fucking kidding me, son? An entire generation of people who knows the soundtrack by name from playing the game on a rom 20 years ago, and the soundtrack is not memorable?

  10. I just started it and I like the design, the battle system, etc. What I think is a bit poor is the emotional aspect. Characters are just not credible at showing emotions. For example, Duran's arc starts with the Crimson Wizard killing many guards in his castle, but you just don't feel his sadness or his anger. Same when his childhood is narrated, you don't feel the sadness when the king comes back to tell Duran's mother her husband disappeared. Same when Angela learns her mother wants to use her as a sacrifice, it's not dramatic.

  11. I'll be playing on PC but I'll buy the Switch version another time. I've been looking forward to this for some time now and I'm glad to see so much positivity surrounding it.

  12. I would like to get this, but at a $50 price tag (technically $49.99), I don't think that is the wisest use of my money, especially since I spent my jr high and high school years playing Seiken Densetsu 3.
But, yeah, this remake looks amazing. Maybe I'll wait till Steam has a sale or something.

  13. How does it work in portable mode when it comes to on-screen information? Watching this review I had a feeling texts are barely readable in handheld mode.

  14. I have trails of mana game and while I do like the graphics and gameplay, I will agree with Nintendo Life guy, it's not as emotional connecting and thought provoking. It makes me want to replay my Tales of Series instead lol. I want the Tales of Arise please!

  15. For some reason the Switch Version Trailer was shown in 60. The PS4 Version is also 60.
I also found out that Riesz's voice was ruined in the English Dub. You can check out my Video "My Response to Riesz's Dub voice from Trials Of Mana (New)". She's my favorite since the original!
    The Graphics isn't THAT bad.
I was planning to get the game for PS4, unfortunately it wasn't available for pre-order when I decided to.

  16. I dunno about everyone else, but between the music and the story presentation, I kept falling asleep. I honestly thought I'd enjoy this more given the various JRPGs I play.

  17. All reviews for trials of mana are 8/10 it gives really good feelings about the game, but thing is no side quests instead of keep running to main quests you could side quests also wish if it had coop like online that could be more fun, I am buying it I have played the demo, this game is repetitive game defeat and reload and defeat again

  18. My only real issue comes with the bosses and how the original had them be a lot more detailed and interesting, I just kind of think some look a little too simplistic for the newer versions.

  19. Seems like it may not be for me: shallow storyline and less than memorable soundtrack are among the most important features of a JRPG for me.

  20. I just started my let’s play on this game on my channel but I’m playing on the PS4. I have no background knowledge AT ALL but it’s definitely been fun so far (the overacting in cut scenes has me dying so I like them actually) ????
