  9. Backwards compatibility and cross platform hold it back. Not necessarily bad but it is what it is. PlayStation exclusives might look better because they won’t be held back by last gen and low end PC

  17. I think that when devs try to target 1080p 30fps on next gen console, they will be able to show a very big leap in graphics. I wish that at least one dev will be brave enough to try this.

  18. I already thought this was a given. We weren't going too gain much with these consoles except for some of the bells and whistles of a Higher end PC. I'm just happy too see 120fps, and higher resolutions, and other effects left out on current generation of consoles. I can't wait to see Crisp and clear images. I also can't wait too see what the power of the console will milk out of the developer considering they only seem to give a shit about putting effort into console ports.

  21. Because just like all previous generations of hardware, developers just can't get the best of the new hardware from day 1: These consoles take some time to learn their intricacies and abilities. In 2-3 years from launch we'll probably see what the new and improved hardware can actually do.

  24. This new gen of console just needs to play every game @ 1080 120hz with fast load times. If they can do that it would be huge over the current 960 30fps with dog slow load times some games run at now. 4k 60hz would be much better for marketing since most console buyers don't realize how much better higher refresh rates are than higher resolutions. I mean this whole 8k talk is so stupid and purely to market this shit to people who don't know any better. Come on an i9 9900 with two 2080ti's can't even run 8k at anywhere near steady 60.

    There isn’t a clear winner with the new generation, you’re better off judging it on the games that are coming out for the system.

    As Sony demonstrated, the PS5 is designed to load only what the player is viewing in the game at any time (and stop loading what the player isn’t looking at or doesn’t need). This means that the processor of the PS5 has a lot less work to do to achieve the same experience as the Xbox. Sony did a lot more than just put a more powerful processor in and call it a day.

  27. I don’t remember what it was called, but the first game they showed off looked crazy good, but other than that they all looked good, but not necessarily “next gen”. Also you can’t expect humongous leaps in graphics when the graphics of the Xbox 360, and PS3 still look fairly good, and the ones from the Xbox One, and PS4 look great still. The biggest leap is in the load times and overall performance.

  28. faster frame rates, faster frame rates are the way to make things look better, but there is a fast approaching wall of diminishing returns, above 144hz some people cant tell the difference between 240, and 300hz, and the limit seems to be 1000mhz for the best human eyes

Xbox series X is another 8 core console, like the xbox one , the difference is that unlike last gen, where 5 to maybe 6 cores were dedicated for gaming , this generation will have 7 cores strictly for gaming, and yes that a massive good news meaning that there will be less shit on OS and more shit on gaming. Expect way better looking games when dev's fully use next gen systems. Also the ps4 was made with making money because at the time sony was near bankruptcy, hell Nintendo was worth more than Sony and sony is a massive company with their fingers on all sorts of products and yet Nintendo was worth more, until the ps4 came out and started printing money for sony.

    2) New consoles get max performance (and keep prices low), some graphs would help btw
    3) It's for game-devs, not consumers
    4) old games on new consoles will always look old
    5) RTX is a joKE (paid video?)

  34. Big improvement from the Xbox one x will make it more expensive and with all that money you mights well buy a starter PC if your looking for graphics in a console.

    EDIT: Crossplay in my opinion should be the focus of sony and Microsoft now.
