  1. As much videos of yours I watch I thought I was already subscribed. I was looking at your testing and wireguard didn't seem much faster. I've only got to try it with PIA so far and some experimenting around later on with pivpn. Wireguard is like night and day faster. It's extremely noticeable when it comes to torrents file downloading even playing games. I was actually shocked. I know this was a older video. I'm just wondering what changed I got on wireguard late

  3. Hey man, i just wanted to ask a question. Unrelated to wireguard. But about Torguard. I'm thinking of getting it. But i specifically want it for my amazon firestick. And using apps like kodi… Do you think Thorguard is good for that?

  4. I think you should try it on a unix based operating system (macOS is fine or any linux distribution). Because it was originally developed to work on unix so who knows. I also use wireguard to bypass my university VPN blocks and I can tell that it is faster (when try it at home).

  6. Good Video Tom. Below some of my thoughts / comments about it:

    – WireGuard (WG) is still in development stage, so regular update of the WG client is important!
    – As you mentioned Mullvad and AzireVPN, as also TorGuard are some VPN providers that are supporting WG and and it's development. Connected to this, there is even an interesting article from AzireVPN about an upcoming "wg-dynamic" in WG which then can be used for a shared IP addresses mode. This should solve some of the privacy concerns.

    – WG has the advantage of MultiCore support, which OpenVPN is missing. For this reason especially when running the VPN client in a router, the speed advantages with WG are huge compared to OpenVPN when using a modern router. Also here, frequently upgrading the WG client is important. – I have been using WG running in my router at home for more than half a year now without any issues.
    – I also can confirm that the native WG app on iOS is much less battery hungry than any other VPN app with OpenVPN or the OpenVPN app I was using on my phone so far. In addition, a nice extra feature in the WG iOS app is the possibility to disable the VPN when connected to certain WLAN networks. As for example when I'm at home, as all my devices are already secured through a WG connection inside my router. The VPN connection is automatically enabled again when I'm leaving my home. (wondering why not many other VPN providers implemented such a functionality in their mobile apps)
    – And finally when it comes to the encryption, until no independent audit of it has been done, we can't really say whether it's less secure than the encryption used in OpenVPN and other VPN protocols. – So time will show and it's important that we all are supporting the WG project the the most of it for all of us. 🙂 Thanks!
