Its interesting how they portray New York in this movie.Its no longer the crime ridden hellhole of the 80's but the people living in it are to say the least with 'issues'.Its telling that Fassbender in the movie is some executive at some company and strongly implied to be part of the elite yet he doesn't seem happy in any way.Basically the movie gives us two kinds of people:the damaged like Fassbender or his sister and the obvious jerks like his boss.And this reflects on the city its a gentrified place with the crime levels down but almost no one seems to be enjoying themselves.
