  9. Can someone answer please is it better to have a monitor that is 120hz and runs like 1080p or 1440p or is it better to have a monitor or TV that is 4k that has a refresh rate of 60hz?

  10. My dell 1440p 32 inch curved moniter looks much better than the 42 inch 4k TCL I had. I seriously can't tell the difference between 4k and 1440p when its 32 inches or below. I have a PS4 Pro and Alienware area 51m laptop. I don't think I'm gonna bother with the consoles untill they have an upgraded version
    My laptop already matches them in power. Then can always run an external GPU if i want to upgrade it. Mainly because the nvidia 3080 already trounces both consoles. They should have waited another year then they both could have had much better GPU's.

  13. I've also been looking at the MSI Optix MAG272CQR. I heard it's a quality monitor with the same price range as the ones you've mentioned, I also think it outperforms most of the ones you've mentioned. You should check it out!

    ( edit: The MSI monitor is actually cheaper than all the ones you've mentioned except the Gigabyte G32QC but the MSI Optix MAG272CQR outperforms it by a margin. )

  18. I have a 1920x1080p 144hz monitor with hdmi 1.4. I have done some research and from what I can find it says that it runs 144hz over hdmi. Is this correct? Monitor: aoc g2590px/g2

  19. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and has hdmi 2.0, but the series x has hdmi 2.1. Could I still run certain games at 120 fps then?

  31. This is a good starting guide but I recommend everyone do extensive research when using monitors for consoles. For example, the LG Ultragear 850 only supports up to 100hz via HDMI when freesync is enabled. Some monitors like the Asus Tuf have poor response response times at 60hz making it unsuitable for console gaming. Some monitors are unable to do 1440p, 120hz, and freesync simultaneously due to them being 144hz and lacking the required 120hz profile. Also pay attention to the freesync range. 40-144hz is ideal but many monitors are 48-144hz. After my research I found the BenQ ex2780q to check all of the boxes I needed and I love it. The Pixio 277 Prime is another good option.

  38. I thought the only way to obtain 120 hz with 1440 was through the HDMI 2.1 port. Why do all these monitors only have a HDMI 2.0? Someone please clear my confusion

  45. Maybe not initially with every title, but I would be absolutely shocked if next gen did not support 1440p @ 120hz. What makes it 'next gen' if it does not support this?
