What is the music you are playing? It fits perfectly with this
The memories of a 12 year old, at dad's office. On a vt100. This game is as engaging now as it was before. It's not the most graphically impressive thing, but it gets the job done very well. It's simple enough for anyone to pick up.
I played this game on my first PC back in 1990. It had no graphics, just a text-only MDA display with green screen monitor. So games like Rogue were all I could play till I could afford to upgrade it. After that I played Hack, Nethack, Ragnarok and others and ended up writing my own simplistic roguelike this year.
I like these type of games. NetHack would be in my top ten games ever.

I first played this on an Atari ST. I'm not sure it's the best way to play, but, even to this day I still like to throw it in and see how far I can delve. Might be fun to compare some of these old ones — NetHack, ZZT, etc.
