  1. But Steve, the USPS is a tribute to the ingenuity of Benjamin Franklin. The system has been largely unchanged in nearly 200 years. Time for it to be reworked.

  2. My household has already delivered its four mail-in ballots, three in-person to our local Colorado county-building drop box, one by mail from California. I promise you not one of us has voted for the people trying to slow down the mail.

  3. I retired a few years ago, but they always prioritize ballots. I know there are many more mail-in ballots this year, but would find it hard to believe they are not put in front of the line whenever possible. Post Office workers, on the other hand, tend to go slower the busier it gets unless they are on probation. The longer it takes, the more overtime they get. It's that simple. It's next to impossible to get fired as well so that Federal Judge wasted his breath for the most part.

  4. I will say this: Recently, getting mail from any source has been a pain, mostly because of the pandemic, with average delivery times being a week to two weeks. Surprisingly however, amid all of the trouble getting packages and such through USPS, I placed an order with a major online retailer, one with deep ties to the republican party and conservatism, from which my package arrived in two days from the other side of the country. Fluke? Maybe, just seems to be a bit coincidental.

  5. FedEx seems to be getting worse too. On the 27th I got a message from Chewy says not to worry my package was still on the way and expected to be delivered by the 26th. That was after watching the tracking not update for two weeks. It was finally delivered on the 30th. I'm still not sure if they have a time machine or don't understand the passage of time when they told me it would be delivered on a date that had already passed.

  6. Since when is stating an incontrovertible fact getting political? I know a certain group of people have tried to make everyone questione everything, but there is no doubt, none whatsoever, that the mail was deliberately slowed down by Louis dejoy.

  7. So a “manager of regular people without power” makes a decree and then provides no additional resources for staff to deliver on the decrees requirements.

    Of course…
It’s the American way after all!

  8. what the fk is a court ordering the post office how to do their job??????????????,,,,jesus,,i have taken the red pill and the matrix has showed me , how as a country we are fked,,,,,,,,,,the judicial corruption all over is beyond belief,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats only the judicial, we all know about the legislative,,,the executive,,with past presidents,,,,,,,,,wowwwwwwwwwwwwww,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  9. USPS is pretty bad these days, even before COVID and the election. Mail I send gets delayed due to being temporarily lost. Priority mail is a joke. I am also getting mail that should be going to other people – I got one letter that should have gone to a completely different city. An obvious court order will not help.

  10. I had a letter mailed from a couple of towns away. Approximately about 20 miles from my house. The letter got post marked in another state before it made its way to my house.

  11. The post office is just a junk mail service. I went electronic delivery for almost everything. Government is the slowest to move away from snail mail. They seem to take for fact if they mail that must have been received. Funny they won't accept that argument for return mail.

  12. In many areas mail is being slowed by at least a week, so not only is voting imperiled, but the potential for payments to be late to customers and even later back to payment processing centers. So many people will get late fees, interest rate increases and credit downgrades due to the installed Post Master General's orders to remove mail sorting machines and take other measures to slow the mail.

  13. STEVE .
Try. sending a check to the city of
Detroit . It. took them five months to cash my check and on top of that they kept charging me late frees .

  14. A doctor sent me a letter, it took 12 days to go across town in Melbourne FL. I have had many 3 day priority packages take a week to get to me. Postal workers re way to much for the service they provide.

  15. I'm feeding my ballot directly into the official counting machine on election day myself, as always. Minimizing human error is the name of the game, in my opinion.

  16. I stopped purchasing any merchandise from sellers that used USPS for delivery this summer. Multiple times I payed for express service then waited weeks for delivery. Almost all deliveries routed through Detroit.

  17. Steve, thank you for talking about your check to the IRS. I mailed my check two weeks before the deadline, so I'm good. But they haven't cashed it yet. I suspect that you are right.

  18. We got our mail delivered at 8:35 PM last night. Yes Haloween. Somedays no body gets mail on our block. I would rather recieve my mail early the next day then so late. I do not want to see a mailman/girl breaking a leg while delivering mail in the dark especially in cold weather.
