    Simple. Keep Series S builds to a lower resolution freeing up the GPU for all the other graphical advances.

  11. I've bought a Series S. Could afford a Series X easily. But it will be connected to a full hd tv and I only game a few hours a week and only a game or 3 at the same time. I think this offering is great. I got to play the newest Game Pass games with fast loading times and high frame rate at a decent resolution.

  16. The review should have more mentioned about its performance at 1440p as everyone knows it's not meant for native 4K , I feel like the review didn't give enough about Series S target performance

  27. why is there an obsession for 4k/8k resolution, the ideal resolution is 1080p for human eye so this ridiculuos obsession is exploited by gaming industry…lol

  31. Im fine with the series S only because I recently bought a 1080p 144hz 0.5ms gaming monitor, and only plan on playing CoD. If I want to I can honestly upgrade my monitor and trade in my Series S for a Xbox Series X later on, mind you I am a broke college student so I think this is a viable option.

  32. People keep talking about the hard drive being too small, yet the ps5 is only 300 gb bigger ?. Ryan mentioned 8 games filling the hard drive, so that means less than 15 in ps5. Not much more then.

  39. I’ve been spoiled by Gamer’s Nexus. IGN just doesn’t do reviews as in-depth as I want them to be. Besides, if the Series X and PS5 are so amazing, why only give them an 8? If the main shortcomings are lack of games then I’d give a 9 for both. And if the Series S lacks so much in every department, then how is it just one notch below the mainstream consoles? I don’t get it

  41. This review should have focused on 1080p resolution ….it was pointless to compare the 4K up scaling. In the developing world most people still are using 1080p TVs…this console was made for developing markets.

  43. youd be better off getting the Xbox One X, its 50% more powerful (native 4K) than the Series S, has an optical drive and will play pretty much all the new games that are coming out. The only real downside would be loading times but a cheap external ssd would fix that. And don't forget that tiny 384gb storage on the Series S combined with no optical drive means you'll be constantly deleting and re-downloading games, and most internet providers (Comcast, Charter, Time Warner) DO have monthly data limits that will get demolished by downloading 100+ games over and over again.

  44. I think they would it have put 1tb in the series s and 2 tb in series x to justify the cost of both. Pretty sure Sony and MS got an agreement to set it both of their consoles at 1tb instead of more.

  45. Okay I understand everything but I still don't get storage. Like I dont have to transfer games back and forth if I have a 3.1 HDD connected right? and it only has xbox one games

  46. well I have made my decision. I am gonna sell my potato pc and will go for series s. Yes the future games are going to be more muddy in series s but as they started smart buy system, I can switch to series x anytime. But for now it will definitely be series s! keep it up Microsoft!!

  48. I don't know why this reviewer is acting like everyone is gonna try to play in 4k when over 95% of people don't even have a 4k tv so this console is fine for most people. The only thing I can see being a problem is the storage and no disc drive. Personally I don't care about the drive but the storage being that small is predatory at this point with games the size that they are and being required to download
