I LOVE SELENA. I think we have such high hopes, for everything that is Selena related, because we truly have her up on a pedastal – there will never be another Selena as far as I'm concerned. I remember when they did the movie, people were upset that JLo got the part. Now we're comparing Christian to JLo. And comparing her body! NO. Please stop doing that to women. Do you think Lou Diamond Phillips looked like Ritchie Valens? No but he did a hell of a job portraying him. This series was approved by the family and thanks to her family, a new generation of people and of different races, share the love of Selena.
Netflix also has a Latinx cast, we should celebrate that and the fact that we have a platform to tell our stories. Our kids will probably see this and they'll know about SELENA; and the legacy continues. Maybe they'll do another great job and we'll get to know her all over again. The first movie let me know that Selena felt like some of us do – you feel like you're not American or Mexican enough. When you don't know a lot of Spanish but people expect you to know it because you look a certain way. (And that expectation comes from both sides.) I knew it wasn't just me! This series may bring forth topics that need to be talked about. My point – Let's celebrate that this will get us through the rest of this dreadful year. Enjoy the story for what it is.

There was no point of making another Selena if Jlo already aced the movie. Nobody could do it better than Jlo Jennifer Looked just like Selena I really wish the could have used someone else to play Selena.
