  9. I usualy don't like shows like this, i mostly watch sci-fi and horror, but this was refreshing, and it is an AMAZING show. 10/10 Sad that its a limited series, but i liked the ending, it didn't leave many unanswered questions.

  10. One of the BEST series I've watched! I keep recommending it to my friends and as soon as they hear the word 'chess' they are doubtful about enjoying the show. But I'm telling them that it's WORTH watching and it is a masterpiece!

  11. OoOOoOooo yet another copy/paste girl power/man hate drama… sooooooooooo cliche. seriously can't they come up with any other plot devices.. Murder, Man Hate, Narcissism 90% of all plot devices now and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring! Thank goodness for books, at least you can get some interesting stories from those still.

  14. I think most of you overlooked, that she played a roll of genius's attribute. She is kinda heartless. Raise by little to no love. She break. She cant resist the temptation of having anyone around her. She loved it. She look so nerd n when she acting so crazy and we all love it. The mind that focus on puzzle is always breaking.

  20. Turned off watching the trailer in midway due to the annoying soundtrack of song. Also the 'plot' looks haphazard. IMDB says "another typical feminist Netflix propaganda". I wouldn't be surprised. I still remain skeptical because Wonder Woman was hyped up too and we know what a trash of a movie that was.

  23. Masterpiece! Came back here, when i finished to watch it. Best series in that year, and in the next probably. Music/Story/Actress, atmosphere of 60s, i love it. And my favorite kind of sport. It was interesting, amazing, and nostalgic, i mean hear the song like "the end of the world" in 3 episode, i cried a lot, be sure. But thanks Netlfix for such masterpiece! *went to play chess :)))

  24. Such a good series. Definitely worth all the praise it’s getting. Great story, acting, photography and sumptuous sets too. I didn’t want it to end!

  27. She is the girl from The Witch movie (2015) and Magik from The New Mutant. Thomas Brodie- Sangster (Game of Thrones – Jojen Reed) and the one who played Harry Beltik is Harry Potters cousin Dudley Dursley.

  28. What an excellent series. Beth Harmon pops off the screen – I'm not sure if it was the scriptwriting, the directing, the acting, or a combination of the three that makes her feel so real. You can't describe most people in just a few words and that holds true for Beth Harmon, despite her being a fictional character. Having the show follow her from youth to adulthood with respect to both her professional career and personal life, and watching her toe the line between genius and psychosis, it truly feels like the viewers know Beth. All the characters are so fleshed-out and well-done, the writing so darkly interesting and the directing elegant. Something about the show draws you in and keeps you watching, even if you know nothing about chess. Would highly recommend to, well, anyone.

    At least, here in chess they could have gone with an indian person… The birth country of chess..

    Anya Taylor-Joy will become a Superstar. I have no doubt.

    The production design is fantastic! The casting is flawless! (The young Beth is so great!) A Must See!

  37. I watched the whole series and then went googling about Beth Harmon and turns out she isn't real lol.

    Which wasn't exactly shocking given how few and far between elite female chess players have been that could compete with male chess players at the highest level.
