  4. Rene`, thanks for this review. My current MacBook Pro is so old it cannot be upgraded to Big Sur. Since it is my tertiary system after my 27" iMacs, I feel safe in upgrading to the new one. It is just in time to be my Christmas present to myself.

  12. Rene, can you confirm that you can only run one external monitor with M1 MBP? I don't know what to think of this… this may cause me to cancel my order 🙁 I am not thrilled about that.

  13. Would it not be nice to have more ram and a sufficient numper of ports? No?
    This looks like low hanging fruit with an intenseley integrated SOC.
    Will it scale? That's the question. Can they scale it up pro/sumer?

  14. Looking at the specs false advertising USB 4 ports. First of all it is named USB4 by the standard. USB4 Two-lane operation using existing USB Type-C cables and up to 40 Gbps operation over 40 Gbps certified cables. Backward compatibility with USB 3.2, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3 and by looking at the website the ports are only Thunderbolt 3, and USB 3.2 so I call BS.

  17. Would love to get the MBP, but still can't get on board with the touch bar! Sadly, this feature would make me choose the MB Air instead but most likely I will just wait until the next generation instead.

    Anyone think Apple will ever ditch the touch bar on the MBP?

  19. Hey guys. I ordered Macbook Pro 13"with I5 2.0Ghz model 2 weeks later. I haven't opened it yet. I am thinking that I will refund it and buy new MacbookPro with M1 Chip. What are your thinks??

  20. Oh shit! I have just bought a MacBook Pro 13" 2020 (2.3 GHz quad-core 10th-generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB memory) last week. Honestly: do you think, that I should return it and buy a new MacBook Pro with M1 processor? Need your help!

  21. I don't know why, but Apple Silicon is somehow a turnoff. I know how hot the Intel Macs run. I have the MBP 16" with the i9. You could poach an egg on it. But, the M1 is a WEAK SOC platform. Fewer PCI lanes, ambiguous capabilities, and the RAM is on the CPU (a huge fuck you to repair and upgrade concerns). The MBP 16" is the last Apple computer I'll be using until Apple makes more repair- and upgrade-friendly products. This ain't it.
