  11. Came here after finishing the book and I have to say, the ending was very over the top and almost ridiculous. Interesting to see how they will pull it off in the movie…

  34. I’m watching David Suchet’s Poirot (in Season 7 now). I’ve watched Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express and this trailer, and I can say that KB’s Poirot is definitely inferior to that of DS. I can now also sense how unconvincing KB’s accent is compared to DS’s.

    I think KB is great in many ways, but DS’s portrayal of Poirot is rather definitive, and I’m not sure if KB is bringing anything more than a big budget and Hollywoodized, SFX-polished scenes targeted for a generic global market. To a fan of classic mysteries this is a mixed blessing.
