Go check out them, they're two of the first video of the M1 Macbook available right now when this comment is being written.
The box looks the same as the 16" Macbook Pro but instead the 13" Macbook Pro
Looking at the M1 Mac's Apple hit this one out of the park on Apple first version of the processor for Mac's. Thing is you know they are working on the next generation at this time, and feedback from the M1 once in the wild will help in that development process.
Looking at the specs false advertising USB 4 ports they did not innovate. First of all it is named USB4 by the standard. USB4 Two-lane operation using existing USB Type-C cables and up to 40 Gbps operation over 40 Gbps certified cables. Backward compatibility with USB 3.2, USB 2.0.
By looking at Apple website the so called USB 4 ports are only Thunderbolt 3, and USB 3.1 Gen 2 so I call BS.
Should I be happy that unlike the past when Apple use to push NEW port technology before it came out on PC?
PC Guy John Hodgman should be happy….
My good at the speed comparison of the previous many other macs I must have waited all day for an application to open on my G4 PowerBook.
On Geekbench 5, the new M1-powered MacBook Air with 8GB of memory recorded a single-core score of 1,687 and a multi-core score of 7,433.
To put these numbers into context, it's the fastest single-core performance ever recorded on any Mac. Additionally, the MacBook Air's multi-core score puts that of the 16-inch MacBook Pro to shame.
In comparison, a 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro with a 10th generation
R.I.P my current Intel based Macs. The new passively cooled Air outperforms my 8-core 16" MBP and only my Xeon powered iMac Pro barely outperforms the Air in multicore performance.
"In it's class" key words.
Don’t forget to tell everyone the lack of fan on “Air” results in throttled down chip performance. Not on pro.
Interested in that Mini w/ 16gb.
How does this translate to gaming FPS? How does it compare to a RTX3080 in terms of performance/fill rate/fps? How about Adobe product performance, i.e. LR and PS?
Mac mini and a new mac air for me… i wonder why the intel mac is so much more then then new m1 chip macs
@MacRumors: really? I was looking for YOUR expert journalistic view on these new products, not just a rehash of what Apple has already provided in much more attractive short videos.
'Apple M1 chip with 8‑core CPU, 7‑core GPU, and 16‑core Neural Engine' on the base mac air on same M1 chip or different M1?
i certainly hope they don't do integrated memory on the 27" iMacs or the 16" macbook pros.
Mmm I like 1TB storage but the Price increase HELL NO
externak gpu ?
what is the difference between 7GPU and 8GPU?
This seems like an obvious question but will the new chips still be able to run Windows? There is a chunk of my job that requires Windows and I refuse to allow work to give me a PC. Anyone know?
Yeah, this clearly shows that apple is doing hardware for people who play among us and make youtube videos named “9000 iq play” and “my team has -9000 iq”.
This “pro” thing will go down as the most gimmick marketing in the history. I’m also sick of this up to 3x, 5x, 10x bullshit that doesn’t reflect the reality at all. Stop showing me mobile games and photo editing on the screen and call your product pro.
Fucking crook brand
With a fanless Macbook Air will there be a M1 iPad Pro? What do you think?
Is it true that nothing is upgradable in the new Macs after purchase? eGPU support dropped?
@MacRumors
5:48 You repeat the same line
Just FYI
No space grey for the mac mini m1 🙁
Bummer no 15” MBP
Macbook Air doesn't have air
Is the M1 Mac Mini faster than the i7 intel model with an egpu, for video editing?
?
