this happened last time with the Xbox yellow ring of death. Microsoft puts out a shoddy product quickly to get u committed day 1. once u've already purchased it ur now trapped into their system and u'll try to stick with it and go for repairs and replacement. not saying sony won't have issues but generally their build quality and care for the product and consumer is way above that of Microsoft
