  3. So I don't get it, does M1 has touch bar or it doesnt? On apple store images it shows like it has it, but here where you show how you use it, it doesnt…. I was watching x2 speed, maybe I missed smthing..

  8. One limitation of the new M1 MacBooks is support of only one external monitor. I have found a clever solution. I have an Apple TV connected to my 4K TV, and the prescribed ONE external monitor, an Asus 1920×1080 connected to my new M1 MacBook Air via the HDMI port on my Anker 7-in-2 dock. In the Screen Mirroring option on Control Panel, I selected the Apple TV and checked the option Use as Separate Display. That's it. I had 3 separate displays, one internal and two external, that I could arrange in Display Preferences, and everything worked great. I had everything I needed in Display Preferences. I could scale the 4K display as I wished, all the way up to literally 4K and anything in between. There was nothing to tell me I did not have two external monitors connected. In theory, all you need is an AirPlay-enabled device to connect to the second external monitor. I have ordered an inexpensive one from Amazon to try this with the two actual monitors on my Mac Mini desk. Don't see any reason it won't work, if the little $29 gizmo is really AirPlay compatible. If not, eBay has 3rd gen Apple TV for around $60. I am fairly sure this method will work just as well on the M1 MB Pro.

  20. What's the easiest way to get this. I tried online and it's taking close to a month to ship but they did not charge me yet. I wanted an upgraded 16gb 512 ssd, they said they have to get it from the warehouse how can I have it in a week. I did not do my research

  21. The 13" macbook pro isn't for me. They need to make a 15.4" 15.6" and a 16" for the m1 chips. I know in a few weeks or a month from now I'm going to buy the intel macbook pro 16"

  24. I am still not sure if apple is making the two tb3 ports share the same 40Mbs bandwidth or if they are truly fully independent with 40Mbs each.
    Please test that. Thanks

    Also can you recommend external ssds since these memory limited internally un upgradeable machines use the fast ssd as a memory swap file, this makes "the external ssd the single most important addidtion you can make to your m1 mac" performance wide, especially since GPUS are not currently supported.

  30. Funny how nobody will understand that Apple just screwed themselves. AARCH64 -> X86(_64)? Not gonna happen. Apple just shot themselves. Open-source is screwed on the M1. Everything runs on Intel ASM. This is Apple ASM.

  42. If editing, storing large files and creating vlog content is the main purpose for a Mac, which model do you think will be best?

  43. I want to know if macbook air M1 is good for automation or not?
    Does it support it?

    Am a student of 2nd yr EE and I want a laptop which helps me in future too and not only for college purpose.

    So if I buy any laptop now, it should be helpful to me in futures too.
