Thanks for letting me talk so much about the toolkits. Timestamps there if you'd like to skip ahead instead! It was a huge effort for us and I wanted to share. It was amazing how hard it was to rework products to eliminate single-use plastics (they're used to protect products in shipping, so your option is normally either potential for high QC rejects = even more waste or wasted plastics but lower QC fails, but a new mold & packing approach fixed all that).
Grab a GN Toolkit on the store (very low inventory left at this point — if it says "add to cart," it's shipping this week; if it says "back-order," check the estimated dates on the storage page to know when it will arrive): https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/gamersnexus-tear-down-toolkit

  2. PC users love to dismiss Steam Survey as voluntary and not representative results but love to talk about their 2080 in comments every chance they get… I don’t get it

  3. If only those GPU companies looked at that steam survey and realized everyone wants to upgrade now and either ramped up stock or pushed release date back to hit demand

  4. Wow, nobody uses AMD. Big surprise. No wonder AMD doesn't give a shit about PC. Console and server is where their business at. At this point, just give up making GPUs for PCs
because Nvidia is living rent free in their minds. What RX 6000? RTX 3000, hell yes!

  5. Wait wait, wait wait wait.. 15.4TB on a SATA3 interface?
Idk why but that makes me think they just stuffed a bunch of 256GB or w/e the max chipsize is on a few PCB's and crammed it in there.
Surely that's not a $4'000 device? Surely a bootleg replica could be created dirt cheaply with refurbished SSD's?

  6. The 1060 and 1050ti are the most popular, because they're still putting it in laptops. And laptops still sell like they're the greatest thing ever made. The only reason i made a Desktop is because there are things that laptops just can't do. And a 1050TI doesn't hold up very well with modern titles. But for most people a laptop is just easier to use cause it's portable. The numbers are probably more indicative of every piece of hardware that's ever been connected to steam, and not what's actually used. If there is a desktop user, they either have a 20 series card or an AMD card. There are more laptops than desktops, and the majority of them have a 1060 or 1050ti, cause they are good laptops and not rediculously priced. A 20series laptop is way to expensive for the capabilities of laptop.

  7. In other words, the most popular and widespread hardware, is simply the cheapest "mainstream". So why is current hardware and literally ALL THE UPCOMING Hardware for the next half year or so, so F. expensive!?!?!?
RTX 3000 series, completely ridiculous pricing, MSRP already too high, again! AMD RDNA2 6000 series, is not much cheaper… not to mention the huge price hike Zen3 got!!

Right now, its more sensible to buy a XbonerSeriesBonerX and the M$ game pass, for gaming! And even if you don't game, a used system for below 500 bucks might do the trick, to encode some videos.

  8. Gamers nXus. I want you PC case line to be named something like G-NX. Maybe GN-X0X0 or G-nXus 1337X^x (that's "X to the X"). Or just "X".. Or something like "G(n)=X^x + 2x +1337". Yes that's good. I'll buy it! If it's also cute.
