  2. This is only true for ipv4. Even then, its suspect. 1500 is the default mtu. The OS will negotiate the MTU…you did know that?

  17. Hmm, really made no difference. I'm paying for 175 Mbps download and I got 206 for trying to change anything. My new Motorola modem was set to "0", which stated in the info it's defaulted to 1500 MTU, but I went and manually put in 1500. Command Prompt already showed it at 1500 so when I redid the speed test it only went up by 3 Mbps to 209. It would be nice to get around 400 Mbps and pay for 175. I'm on Comcast so I really don't see getting too far past the cap. Thanks!

  18. U have to keep in mind that u might not want to increase mtu size if u play Competitive Online couse the System will wait to send Datablocks till there full witch can increase latency.

    ? The writing is to small for me to read.

  22. hi sir, i have this response say "the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." after entering netsh int ipv4 set subinterface “Wi-fi” mtu=1500 store=persistent on cmd. I need your help sir, however i managed to change the mtu on the router from 1472 to 1500.

  25. This makes zero difference on lower internet speeds like 150mbps and lower. Or I should say this will not work with Xfinity.

  27. This is a pretty good tutorial. I'm impressed. There are lots of ways to maximize ethernet wired connections, and wireless networks. Most of the time the networks that are local are much faster than the internet sites were going to so we don't really have a problem. But for maximum throughput, tricks like this are helpful, good job!

  32. Thanks for the great video, although I've done all of this to my old Toshiba I'm only getting a ping of 1. Talk about slow speeds. Any videos on low pings. I have IP Vanish and the ping is the same connected or disconnected.

  38. Thanks for the information! My Archer A20 already had the MPU size set to 1500, and that was exactly the size I require. It did a good job of determining this.
