4. How do you like the JBL Bar 2.1? Im thinking of buying it, its on sale for 250€ now. I think it would be a great upgrade from my JBL Charge 3 which i am using right now for all of my sound use. (By all, i mean: TV, music, movies etc..) Im not really looking for super booming bass, just great sound quality and some extra kick in bass for explosions in movies etc.

5. I don't really care about immersion through sound I just want to hear what the actors are saying. That is primary…Effects are for children and shitty movies, that comes last…Although, I do like a little base over shitty TV sound to hear Morgan Freeman's Godly voice as it should be heard.

10. I would recommend a set of speakers and AV receiver over a soundbar setup. For the same $$ of a decent soundbar setup you can get a superior pair of Speakers and AV receiver, and at the end of the day the sound from the speakers is a lot better imo (i.e. it's pure physics; a good pair of speakers can move more air than any soundbar setup).

12. Get yourself a min of 5.1 av surround system for best sound. Soundbars are a very poor compromise.

13. If you're review is on a 5.1, why did you add a 9.1?. Try taking out the 9.1 and properly adding an actual 5.1. Some people are watching this specifically for a 5.1 and your disrespecting them by misleading your title. This 9.1 costs more than triple most 5.1 soundbar systems.

15. Nevermind Atmos on Netflix is awful, it's a far more important to choose a movie with good mixing and editing!
    "I'd rather watch a movie on my soundbar with good soundtrack then watch a Atmos movie on my 5.2.4 setup with a bad soundtrack!"

    Don't worry so much if you haven't got atmos, it's far more enjoyable to choose a movie with a good soundtrack!

    Thanks for sharing such awesome content, i see Sony Sound Bars have not made the video, any particular reason? as i am looking at getting the HT-S700RT? This meets my budget, but willing to save a few months for JBL 9.1…please kindly advise and assist me with my choice/

20. I tried a sharp 2.0 with sub woofer recently with a hitachi 4K smart TV. Turns out TV doesn’t have sound delay and so, everything had poor lip synch worse with Netflix had to return for refund. Very annoying.

23. The sound bar is a compact cheaply made external TV speaker system, the only part that is not small is the massive rip-off price. I've see those little things with $2499 price tags, with about $300 worth of hardware inside.

    of large flat screen TV do not have builtin speakers, or are of poor
    quality. They are not Hi Fi speakers, they are small cheap injection
    molded plastic speakers, with a switch mode power supply, with some
    digital sound processing, class D power amplifier and a blue tooth
    radio receiver. The sub woofer is also small and cheap and nasty, cheap V
    folder vinyl wrapped 12mm chipboard ported cabinet, with no bracing.
    The drivers are awful.

26. I was planning to get Bose bar 700 to replace my old Bose Cinemate 15. After weeks of comparing, I decided to get JBL Bar 9.1 instead – not only cheaper but because of Dolby Atmos support (the latest surround sound for 4K movies).
    Although Bose 700 is better in playing music, its slow to adapt the latest cinematic sound of 4K movies.

37. Biggest problem are the feet on modern tv's , I can't get a soundbar anywhere near the base of my sony as it cuts the bottom part of the screen off

    Then again I think most if not all soundbars are garbage compared to even an entry level basic av set up with a dedicated centre etc

41. Im sorry, but €450 for a 3.0 sound bar is ridiculous when I can get a full Logitech 5.1 surround sound system for less than half the price.
