  1. Can you setup the Multi Van (means we can multi dial our ppoe connection) so we can 3X or 4X our bandwidth? I saw some Chinese people do it, but it's in Chinese, very hard to understand.

  2. I think your VPN test results are limited by VPN providers (or WAN link) but not a good measure of real throughput of the router. Can you setup a local VPN to get the good result?

  3. One thing to try is as others said, SQM, but also, try iperf3 in –bidir mode, or two iperf running to each other across the router so you load up and downlink simultaneously, this is usually when you run into interesting bottlenecks.
    Not sure if the NICs in this supports Recieve side scaling, so might still be stuck with two cores loaded

  4. Do you have any alternative suggestion to HP T620 Plus? I want a openwrt router that can handle gigabit speeds and run sqm cake. I read a lot about nano pi r4s and many more but they all take too long to ship or some of them are just out of stock.

  5. Nanopi R2S can do SQM at 300 + Mbps with 40 percent cpu usage ( cake and piece of cake),not sure about 1 Gbps , can you please check this .

  6. @Van Tech Corner  what router do you guys suggest for openwrt I wanna use sqm and cake with 1gigabit connection so I can at least get 900+Mbps with sqm and cake is enabled any suggestions?

  7. Since this sbc has 6 cores (4+2), i wonder if you load balance the traffic, it will use all cores or just either 4 cores (a53) or 2 cores (a72) only.

    Load balance traffic by enabling Packet steering

  8. Bro, you should try with enabling Packet Steering. Network->Interfaces->Global Network Option.

    By enabling this, it will load balace all cpu. It will greatly reduce cpu temperature and none of the cores should go to the max.

    I love to see such result.

  9. Hi Van , I would be highly obliged if you can check that Nanopi R2S and R4S with cake and piece of cake as trafic scheduler( default cake configuration) can handel 1 Gbps with this ,wnated to buy one of as router replacement.

  10. Can you run iperf3 with client option -t60 or longer I use -t300 ( 5 minutes) the default time of -t10 is too short to test cpu load and saturate the interface to generate errors. Also test with -R to run in reverse mode.
