The grandest epic cycle this side of the Aegean! Today let’s talk about the tale of which The Iliad only makes up a tiny (if impressive) fraction!

Red I beg you, which translation of the Illiad did you use?
Yeah I am surprised that literally all the immortal wise gods couldn't have chopped the apple to pieces and share you can say They're like humans are childish
Am I the only one that thinks there should be a video on the House of Atreus causing problems?
I love the look on Menelaus'face inside the horse when the spear thucks into the hull
i love the idea of Helen being put away in Egypt during the war
4:52 I CANT PUT MY HEAD ON WHAT THAT SONG IS CALLED AND IT IS DRIVING ME INSANE
Holy shit how did this get age restricted
this video is filled to the brim with memeable drawings
I hope you do one for the odyssey since there's an ongoing musical called EPIC about it and it's awesome!
Ya know I have heard some versions of Greek mythology most notably Percy Jackson where Odysseus was straight up Athena’s son as for how that works in the Percy Jackson series children of Athena are born the same way she was by coming out of the father’s head.
Can we all just appreciate how incredible it is that these stories are over 2,000 years old!!
I subscribed to your channel because of all the great mythology content. There’s a musical called EPIC which is based on the story of Odysseus. The writer is Jorge Rivera-Herrans and the musical is still in the works. However, they did release a couple of songs and I would be very interested to hear your opinion.

"But you better believe those storytellers love them some tedious lists" any other Bible study kids who had to drudge through the begats during their formative years?
I like how basically all the greek gods are pieces of shit and then Artemis and Athena are just super chill and reasonable by comparison.
Did you guys know the video is age restricted in some countries?
Man in ancient stories absolutely everyone gets completely fucked in both the good way and then the bad way.
Appreciate Lorde at the end. I guess Team makes more sense with its lyrics than her Helen of Troy.
Does anyone know why it’s usually Artemis that seems to be forgotten when honoring the gods? There are quite a few stories in which someone forgot Artemis and was punished as a result (the Caledonian Boar, Agamemnon, the Erymantanian Boar.)
But what specifically happened to Helen?! Reclaimed by Menelaus and sailed home? Or something else?
Since when is there an age restriction 😭

"It's tragic but it's not like we don't have more"
i didn't realize how fucking true this was until i read The Iliad, priam had fifty fucking kids before the war happened
Odysseus rocking up while everyone is fawning over Helen to ask about Penelope is some cute shit damnit!
I love studying different mythologies and I love how she can make it funny but one of the biggest BS things I have with the Greek mythology is why is every girl supposedly the most beautiful in Greece at this point every time someone says that in the story I just translate to okay so everyone was simp
