  1. I was using IKEv2 for a long time, till i get those connection issues and the 809 error all of the time, which i'm sick of. I'm on OpenVPN/UDP/1194 for now.

  2. I know and use Panda VPN among VPNs that offer IKEV2 methods. I know it's a Korean company, but I'm very satisfied with it and I'm using it. I realized once again that Korea is the number one country in the IT industry.

  3. One question. For example IKEv2 is for example belived to maybe be compromised in its security by NSA. However contacting VPN providers they say it is not an issue and no matter what protocol you be safe with their VPN. So i wonder can that be true. So i wonder is a protocol always same in its security no matter provider ?what difference does it make to select between 2 different providers using same protocol, like can IKEv2 be safer with Nord than with Express or other way arround or is it just exactly same always because the protocol is same?

  4. The statement regarding TCP being superior to UDP for unreliable connections on openvpn is not very accurate. UDP is what you want to use, hands down for unreliable connections and vpns. If you use TCP and the connection drops out or has packet loss, you will get an awful lag spike as TCP requests retransmissions of all tunnelled packets whereas with UDP just the ones that are lost at the time will be lost.

Also if you are doing any sort of audio or video calling, using a TCP based vpn protocol is an absolutely awful idea.

  5. I use OVPN (TCP) at school, IKEv2 on my phone (good vpn providers have patched the alleged nsa vulnerability), and wireguard on my desktop

  6. You say every VPN is "very fast". Well, if you are comparing rabbits, you don't say each rabbit is "very fast" in regards to a turtle. You should be RELATIVELY comparing their speeds amongst themselves. That being said, I do like the other topics you talk about in this video as it's informative.

  7. Ran into Catch 22 with OpenVPN, ATT's router will not allow a static IP to be added to the DMZ but OpenVPN requires a static IP. I don't know why it needs to be static inside the firewall?

  8. I had a problem staying connected at home with my iPad and Torguard so contacted support who advised me to use Wireguard. I downloaded it and have been using it since with better connections, Thanks for the video, although a lot of what you said, I must admit, was like a foreign language. I waited for you to show the positive and negative points on each to understand.
